How Are Donations Spent?

What do donations pay for?

100% of donations fund the expensive paperwork procedures for Inalienable clients and qualified business expenses (the largest of those are office rent and gasoline to travel). Crucially, Inalienable staff are not paid by donations.

How expensive is a birth certificate?

The Birth Certificate (or Acta de Nacimiento) is not expensive itself. The expensive part is everything else that must be done before applying for a Birth Certificate. This often includes exhaustive records searches in other states called a Certificado De Inexistencia, or even appearances before a judge. Because of that, the cost of any specific persons procedures can vary wildly. However, average total costs are around $100 USD.

If my donations do not pay for staff, how are they paid?

Currently, staff time is donated by an independent legal practice in Baja California. This allows you to be certain your financial support goes directly to Inalienable clients.
